Last project

Okay! Post round two! Lets see if this shows up!

For this week I used some pictures I took of flowers and put diffrent borders on them, two I used tutorials for but if your interested in seeing the ites they will be by the picture. Thank you everyone for your comments and suggestions this semester, I feel I know my way around photoshop alot better and part of that is thanks to you. Now on to the project!

For this first one I used a stroke around the picture. That’s all. The color is because I used a gradient instead of a solid color stroke.

It’s kinda too pink for my tastes but for the third I tried using this tutorial:  http://www.photoshopessentials.com/photo-effects/photo-as-background/page-4.php

And now for my favorite and the last I used brushes  found from Aleida’s blog to make the shape and a clipping mask to put the picture in it.

Threadless

I loved this weeks asignment. I stared 3 diffrent ideas and droped all of them. I want to try some of them again when I have a little more time to make them the way I want them to be so I eneded up going with a simpler idea.

So I found out today the design was denied. Note said it needed more work. The link above won’t take you to it anymore so I just wanted to say that it was there even if it’s now gone.

Composite

Here’s my composite project. Most picyures were found off google. I can only claim to own one of the photos used.

Yay! It has screen shots from Alice in Wonderland  by Disney, a few illistrations that I don’t remember where they are from. If your interested it finding them I just searched for alice in wonderland illistrations in google. Underneath all that is a checkerboard pattern I also got off google. Funky colors are from a photograph of mine and last thing I used was grunge brushes from Aleida’s blog: http://wp.me/12DHS

I really like it better without some of the layers but it needed more than 1 so I’m going to put in here an alternate version. Enjoy!

Brushes and painting

I really liked this week project, making the brushes and learing about the mixer brush, awesome! Soooooo, it went pretty fast. Uploading it hoever was another story. My internet connection has been a little wonky lately so I really hope everything makes it through. It you see anything wierd happening tell me please.

On to work! This is the picture I used for my brush:

And the results! I made two because I couldn’t decide which I liked te color better, which do you like?

Vector

I have learned something this week. Vector is not shall we say my ‘cup of tea’. I spent more time than I care to admit on this and I’m still not really happy with the turn out. Had alot of trouble with the curves going the way I wanted to so I ended up putting alot more points in every line than I should have used. Oh well. Live and learn.

Poor, poor aged photos. I don’t think I really need to post this but I like getting everyones feedback soooooooo…..
I don’t know how old this photo is to be honest. I think I’m distantly related to the people in the photo so I figured it would be cool to try to fix it up a little so without further ado the before:

I know the little girl probably had legs but photoshop couldn’t find them, I know it looks kinda funny.

Text stuff

For this project I used a star wars tone poem and tried diffrent text tutorial on diffrent words. I was debating on doing one for every tone poem (8 in total) but time restricts me. Masks and channels

For this week where we we’re supposed to make a strange advertisement I didn’t really have an idea untill breakfast. Then I remembered bacon. Bacon is yummy so my project has alot of it. Hope you like it, criticism and comments are always appreciated.

I like the next project alot more though and here it is!

I decided to make this partly because I’ve been celebrating The Hobbit is finally in filming! Yay! Fonts and Photos are from http://www.arwen-undomiel.com/ an amaing site for anything Lord of the rings.  Paintings are by Alan Lee for the background and J.R.R. Tolkien for the inside of the evenstar pendant.

If I lived in New Zeland and was 1 inch taller I could be an elf in The Hobbit. Pretty awesome huh? 😀
